Benefits of Membership
Benefits to the School:
National Beta Club membership provides a channel to promote, recognize and
train students in the areas of character, achievement, service
and leadership for both Junior (grades 5-9) and Senior (grades
9-12) students.
Each school establishing
a club receives a charter with seal suitable for framing,
a roster for charter members to sign, materials for maintaining
a club (large and small posters, sponsor manual, convention bulletins where applicable, invitational
materials upon request, etc). There is no charge to the school.
Benefits
to the Sponsor (Faculty Advisor):
The sponsor has
the opportunity to guide, encourage and work with students who
demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and
leadership.
The club sponsor
receives a lapel pin and instruction manual, a special subscription
to a sponsor's-only on-line web site, a full subscription to
the BetaWeb, along with a subscription to the Beta Reporter.
Benefits
to the Student:
Members are entitled
to all the rights and privileges of Beta: membership pin, personalized
membership card and certificate, and a subscription to the Beta
Journal while a member.
The Senior Division
grants a gold diploma seal for each graduating member, along
with scholarship opportunities.
Students pay a one-time
$13.00 fee for Junior membership (grades 5-9) and a one-time
$13.00 membership fee when they join the Senior Beta Club (grades
9-12).
Other benefits include:
Unlimited use to the Beta Club's members-only
educational web site, the BetaWeb.
Outlet to express creativity (poetry, writing, short stories
and photography) in the student magazine, Beta Journal.
Various states have conventions with academic, talent and other
competitions.
Leadership Opportunities
National Conventions are held for Junior Betas and Senior Betas
each June for state winners to compete for national titles.
