Our Junior Beta Club each year chooses a charity to support through their
service activities. This year, unfortunately, our 8th grade writing
teacher is suffering through a reoccurrence of breast cancer so we have
chosen to support a local fund for her family. Our project which was held
on Thursday, March 6 was a "HEALTHY CHOICE" BAKE SALE. Due to new
restrictions on what items could be sold at school, we developed a list of
acceptable and healthy choices for the students to bring ( cereal snack
mixes, granola bars, ants on a log -celery, mixed veggie snack bags and
more. Our sale brought in $129.00 for the Franklin Family -- at 25 cents
an item. We also talked to all students at their lunches about the
purpose and responsibilities of the Beta Club.
