National Organization Celebrates 75th Anniversary by Adding a Record Total of New Members

Spartanburg, SC July 2009 – The National Beta Club is pleased to announce that the organization completed the 2008-2009 school year with 186,000 new members. This number is significant because it breaks all previous new membership totals during the their 75 year history.

The national staff, board of directors, and sponsors (club advisors) are to be commended for their exceptional hard work this year. "It's exciting to experience such growth, despite difficult economic times," stated Executive Director/CEO, Mr. Ken Cline. "This is a testament to the fact that communities need these types of service-oriented students in their areas more than ever."

The National Beta Club is the nation's largest independent youth organization. Since its beginnings in 1934, The National Beta Club has been committed to providing students with a positive experience in a supportive manner with their peers in grades 5-12. The organization recognizes academic achievement, encourages service to others, and promotes the development of good character and leadership skills.
