"Through Beta, I have learned to seek to understand, then to be understood. I have learned to work as a team rather than work as an individual or put the work load on someone else. But above all, I’ve learned that I should always be kind."

HISTORY

Alabama boasts as the home of the first National President of Beta Club,Ted Locke from Thomasville High School. Locke was elected in 1982 in Orlando, FL. More firsts include Chilton County High School in Clanton, AL as the first Senior Beta Charter in the state established on October 26, 1936. Another notable Alabama Beta is David Matthews. After serving as President of his high school Beta Club and Class President, Matthews went on to become President of the University of Alabama in 1967. Leadership and service go hand in hand, join Beta in sweet home Alabama and we’ll show you how it’s done.
