Character is built one decision at a time.
Thank you for choosing to bring the Being Better Betas Ethics Curriculum to your club. Whether you sponsor an Elementary, Junior, or Senior Beta Club, these resources will help your students develop the confidence to make thoughtful, ethical decisions in school, in service, and throughout their lives.
Choose Your Curriculum
Elementary / Junior Beta (Grades 4-8)
Introduce your younger Betas to ethical decision-making through age-appropriate lessons that build a strong foundation in character, empathy, leadership, and responsible decision-making.
Designed specifically for Elementary and Junior Beta members, this curriculum introduces Clemson University’s STAR Decision-Making Model in an engaging, accessible way, helping students develop the habits they’ll carry into day in and day out.
Senior Beta (Grades 9-12)
Developed alongside the Rutland Institute for Ethics at Clemson University, the Senior curriculum helps students master the STAR Decision-Making Model through engaging lessons, discussion, and practical application.
Make Every Club Meeting Matter
The Being Better Betas curriculum is designed to fit naturally into your meeting schedule.
Whether you dedicate an entire meeting to a lesson or spend just a few minutes discussing a case study, each module encourages meaningful conversations that strengthen leadership and character.
Continue the Journey
Once your students have explored the curriculum, encourage them to put their learning into action through National Beta’s ethics opportunities.
- Being Better Betas Ethical Decision-Making Challenge (Elementary, Junior & Senior)
- Harry & Ina Durham Endowed High School Ethics Case Competition (Senior)
These experiences allow students to apply the STAR Decision-Making Model to authentic ethical scenarios while building confidence, leadership, and collaboration skills.
