National Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America.

Committed to recognizing high academic achievement, rewarding worthy character, fostering leadership skills, and encouraging service to others, Beta impacts the lives of students in significant ways. Founded in 1934 by John W. Harris, Ed., National Beta has worked with millions of students in grades 4-12.

Benefits:

National Beta is an internationally recognized honor organization that celebrates students’ academic achievements. Additionally, Beta offers:

  • Character education and service-learning opportunities which inspire students to become outstanding leaders.
  • Opportunities for students to enhance leadership skills and personal growth, as well as showcase talents and academic abilities at Regional Leadership Summits, and State and National Conventions.
  • Scholarship opportunities equaling over $420,000 for graduating 12th grade Senior Beta members.
  • A positive contribution to a school’s climate and culture.

Students pay a one-time membership fee per student, per division.

Elementary (4th-5th grades): $16
Junior (6th-8th grades): $24
Senior (9th-12th grades): $32

 

Each new member receives a membership card, certificate, and membership pin.

In addition to the day-to-day opportunities a Beta Club provides for students, National Beta holds a variety of events each year that students are eligible to attend.

Regional Leadership Summit:

Regional Leadership Summits are held in seven states throughout the southeast for all divisions of National Beta. These two-day events provide students an opportunity to experience leadership development, goal-setting, self-esteem building and more. They can also interview to become a Leadership Representative!

Each summit features a keynote speaker, various challenges, and opportunities for clubs to qualify for National Convention.

State Convention:


State Convention is a dynamic event held in 18 states across the country which is open to all Beta clubs who strive to offer unique experiences to showcase their talents, both individually and collectively as a club.

There are over 45 competition opportunities that include academic tests, STEM challenges, visual arts, talent performances. Plus, students have the ability to run for a State Officer position.

Event Registration Cost: $30 (cost is per student and subject to change)

National Convention:


National Convention is held each summer and is the event where individuals and clubs that qualified throughout the year at State Conventions and Leadership Summits join to compete for a national title. Students also get to explore the host city, take part in national exhibitions, participate in the Beta Serves project, and more!
