Our state service project for the upcoming convention will be to donate to The Union Mission in the Hampton Road area. We plan on raising money to give back to their organization. Please encourage your Betas to give in support of The Union Mission. All money collected by your club will need to be given in the form of a check, made out to The Union Mission. This check will need to be brought to the convention and given to the State Sponsor or State Sponsor-Elect. Your club and Betas may also give directly using the QR code below. We cannot wait to present them with this donation at the state convention.

This year we are asking you to take the state service project to your own communities!
For the month of February, we are encouraging each school to reach out to your local nursing home or assisted living facility about creating care packages for the patients/residents. Many of these patients do not get a lot of visitors and will enjoy positive interaction with others.
Because each facility is different, an important step in this project will be communicating with the staff at each respective location to obtain a list of approved items, including items that the residents may not have access to but could receive. Once care packages are created, students will coordinate a time with staff to deliver them to the patients/residents at the nursing home/assisted living establishment.
By extending our state service project to local communities we can impact a wider range of individuals and truly follow the Beta motto of “Let us Lead By Serving Others.”
As you are completing the various steps of this project, take pictures and feel free to send them to @vastatebeta on Instagram with your school’s name and how many you delivered, and we will highlight them.
Thank you to our current state officers – Callie, Nate, and Koen – for having a desire to impact more individuals with our state service project this year.

We encourage you to make the most of any downtime by bringing engaging activities for your students.
